What I Do

I believe that just because your child or loved one has special needs  doesn't mean that you can't find ways to really connect with them and help them become more independent throughout the day. It may take more planning and require some organization, but if the quality of your interactions improves, then you'll find that it's worth it. I am a "teach a man to fish" person. You know the old adage-  "Give a man a fish, you'll feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you'll feed him for a lifetime."

On FunSpeechPath.Com you can find books, tables and worksheets to work with your loved one. My goal is to show YOU how to take everyday activities and turn them into opportunities to develop verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and address feeding goals. I provide suggestions on how you can find the most efficient medium of communication, adapt activities, and modify mealtime routines to meet your families specific needs.

Visit the Blog for tips and activity suggestions for speech, language, & feeding therapy.
