Feeding Skills

INFORMATION IS PROVIDED FOR PARENT EDUCATION. THIS DOES NOT REPLACE THE NEED FOR AN EVALUATION BY A QUALIFIED SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST.

Is your child a picky eater or is there a sensory based aversion? Is it a matter of preferring one brand of food over another, or does texture, temperature, flavor, viscosity, etc play a role? Have they recently been cleared to begin the process of transitioning from a feeding tube to oral feeding? Are they ending meals early because of muscle weakness? Do they have the skills to drink from a cup? I help you answer those questions and determine the best plan for your little one. We work together, step by step through the process to help your child overcome sensory aversions and begin to tolerate and accept food as well as develop the skills they need to become independent self-feeders. Check out the videos below for feeding tips and strategies. Follow @FunSpeechPath on YouTube for more speech, language, and feeding activities and information.

AS ALWAYS, INFORMATION IS PROVIDED FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES.
